Our 1875 Settlers' Church is a lovely venue for couples who prefer smaller weddings in a little historic white church with original worn kauri wooden floors and the ambiance only 145 years of memories can make. The original kauri pews can seat up to 100 people.
Wedding bookings from all denominations are welcomed and you provide your own celebrant.
Wedding hire is $500 and includes the day before in order to decorate the Church if you wish, although you may find the simple interior of the church with its soft lighting is pretty enough that further decoration is not necessary.
A $200 booking fee is payable upon confirmation of your booking, with the remaining $300 payable 6 weeks before your wedding.
For wedding bookings please use our Contact Form or you can call our Weddings / Bookings Co-ordinator Leanne Midgley on 021 688 164.
The grounds are regularly maintained, but are always mowed and tidied before a wedding.
Flowers and Decorations:
Floral decorations in the Church are your responsibility. Flowers and bows may be placed at the end of pews using ribbons. These must be removed immediately after the service please. Please do not use any kind of adhesive on our historic kauri furniture. Similarly, the use of wire which may damage the building or furniture is not permitted.
Flower petals, rice and confetti:
There is to be no flower petals, confetti or rice in the Church. The flower petals stain the original floorboards, and the confetti and rice get caught in the floorboards.
However, flower petals, rice and confetti may be used outside the Church. It is then your responsibility please to clean up the grounds after the ceremony. This can be done the next day by family and friends, please chat to Leanne, our Weddings / Bookings Co-ordinator to confirm arrangements.
Fire safety regulations do not allow any candles (open flames) in our historic Church. One option is the use of electric candles or electric tealights.
